I know it has been a long time since I updated the blog. My apologies. But, I have jumped ship to Facebook. Yep, I am a follower. But, because some of my goofy family members (hello Samantha, Memaw, and Pops!) won't sign up for a FB page, I need to still update this every once in a while with photos. Here are some recent photos from our trip to Omaha (Papillion really) for the 4th of July.

Merry Christmas to all! I wish we could have spent Christmas in Nebraska with the super-cool Furlow's & Bozeman's, but oh well. At least we will be there next week. We should be there next year too, if our house sells. Ha! Anyway, here are some photos from yesterday.

First, here are some photos from Christmas Eve. Patrick was allowed to open one present, which was these super cute pj's.

And now for the photos from Christmas Day... Santa brought Patrick the Step2 50's Diner and a stocking of goodies. He was really surprised when he walked into the living room Christmas morning. He said 'ahh!!' and pointed at the diner and turned around to look at Mark. It was very cute. Sadly Mom was too pokey with the camera and the photo is a second after that. Still cute though. We then had breakfast, got dressed, and opened the presents from under the tree. The first one he saw was the cute toddler rocker from Nana and Grandaddy that we just brought out of the guestroom unwrapped. He really likes it. Then we made the mistake of giving him his toy vacuum to open first. After that he wasn't interested in doing anything other than vacuuming. So Mark and I just opened the rest of his gifts and showed them to him. He really likes all of the presents though; thank you to everyone! Also, one of these photos I took of him secretly. I was checking on the ham in the kitchen and peeked around the corner and he had opened my box from Jamie that held my new tart burner and tarts. He was going through all of the tarts one by one and smelling them. I swear we have got a future huffer or pyro on our hands with his love of candles. Nana and Aunt Jamie, I blame you for this! :)

Here are a couple of pictures of Patrick with his bucket. He likes to hold it like a purse sometimes, over his arm. :) Mark of course loves this. He did that this afternoon with my work lunchbox and waved at Mark and me and said "bye bye" and proceeded to walk to the front door and try to turn the knob. I think he was planning on going shopping without us. It was pretty darn cute and funny. I wasn't able to get pictures of that, so these with his shape bucket will have to do.

Here are some recent photos of Patrick. He is enjoying some graham crackers in some, modeling his new coat, playing in the box his toy box came in, giving Momma a kiss, and sitting on the new storage ottoman that hides his living room toys. Enjoy!

Halloween

Happy late Halloween everyone! This year we flew out to Nebraska and spent Halloween with my family. We were also able to celebrate my dad (Grandaddy) and my youngest sister's (Aunt Lexie) birthday on the 30th. Patrick was a monkey for Halloween and he was so cute! He enjoyed going trick-or-treating. He liked saying 'hi' to everyone and picking out candy. His favorite to pick was Reeses, though that might have been influenced by me... :) Here are some photos from the weekend.

Clean, Clean

Here are some photos of Patrick doing his new favorite activity-- vacuuming. He absolutely loves to clean and included in that is vacuuming. Our vacuum came with a carpet sweeper and Mark was able to take out the middle portions of the handle to make it shorter (after these pics were taken). He also showed Patrick how to push the button and turn it on. While he's cleaning, be it vacuuming or dusting, he says 'clean clean". It's pretty cute. Oh yeah, and it was kind of hot this day and after I changed his diaper I left his pants off. I know, I swore I'd never do that, but my baby was hot! :)

Also, since it has started to get chilly we got him these cute Elmo slippers.

Rockin' Pup

Lately Patrick has just been in love with his 'Rockin' Pup'. He will just rock and rock forever! Here are some photos I took today and a short movie. Also, the close up is a photo of Patrick with chocolate icing on his mouth. He was messier than it looks... We made brownies and like mother, like son, he loves the icing the best. :) I also included another shot showing all the icing he had on his face, though please forgive the poor quality. I don't know what happened there...

Here are some new pictures of Patrick. He is wearing his Cutler jersey and cheering for the Broncos. Mark taught him to say 'touchdown' and raise his arms. He doesn't actually say 'touchdown' but it sounds like he is trying. He has also learned to stick out his tongue when you ask him to, which is really cute. Also, Mark brought this toy snake home from work the other day and Patrick loves it.

Well, Patrick is now 1 year old! I can't believe it has been a year. It seems like yesterday that I was pregnant and had huge swollen ankles. Ha! But, it's true, my baby is growing up. Yesterday, August 1st, was Patrick's birthday. Mark took the day off and I took a 1/2 day and we spent time hanging out, getting things ready for his birthday party, and getting his pictures taken. As you can probably guess, I have a lot of pictures from the last two days. I'll start with photos from yesterday, his birthday, of Patrick eating some cake.

We got Patrick's birthday cake from a bakery in Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City to be exact, and it was sooo yummy. They made Patrick his own little cake to dig into so we gave him that cake on his birthday and saved the other one for his party on Saturday. Here are the photos of his individual cake and him digging in - tentatively at first, and then really getting into it.

Here are some photos of Patrick's birthday party, which was today, Saturday August 2nd. Patrick had fun, or as much as can be expected for a 1 year old! Many of Patrick's friends and family were able to attend and we would like to thank all of them for coming and helping us celebrate. Patrick had fun, had more cake (of course), and got some great gifts. He is enjoying his "big boy carseat", rockin' pup, and all of his other toys. He also cannot wait for the weather to get a little cooler so he can wear his new jeans from Great Granny, and his new Broncos jersey and Jordans. He will be so adorable! Mark already said that will be his outfit every Sunday once football season starts, so keep an eye out for that post! Patrick's party 'theme' was monkeys, mainly just because I thought the invitation was cute it grew from there. Plus we do call him Chunky Monkey and such, so it fit. On Friday he made a monkey at Build-A-Bear named Martin, and the bakery was able to copy the monkey from the invitation onto the cake. I think it came out pretty cute.

Patrick is walking!!

Hello All-

Sorry it has been a while between posts. It's been busy, as usual! But, I am posting with exciting news -- Patrick can now walk long (to him) distances alone! He's been walking around for a while with the assistance of me, Mark or the sofa. But this weekend he started walking between us, across the room, all by himself! It's pretty exciting. I took a video with our camera so hopefully I can figure out a way to post it. I think that Patrick heard Nana was predicting he'd walk at 13 months and he took that as a challenge. Ha! Take that Nana! :)

Also, here are some recent photos of Patrick. I really like the one where it looks like he's fending off the paparazzi. He's showing off his faux hawk in the other picture.

This week we are gearing up for Patrick's 1 year birthday, which is this Friday. I really cannot believe it's been a year already. It is crazy!! But, I'll be sure to post next weekend so you can see pictures of him covered in cake and photos from his party.

Hello all!
Well, after much encouragement (or nagging) from my cousin Laura, I have created a family blog to discuss our exciting lives. (yeah, right) But seriously, I thought it would be a good way for the extended family to keep up on us and what we are up to, especially Patrick. He grows so fast hopefully this give everyone a way to try to keep up! I have to get back to work now, but I'll try to post again later today and upload some pictures and such. Hopefully I can work on our blog and make it look semi-cute so it isn't too boring to visit. Thanks for stopping by!
